Description
This is an outbuilding, likely a smithy, located to the north of Rigmaden Hall and dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from partly dressed stone with quoins and partly coursed rubble. The building is a single storey with three irregular bays, the first bay featuring quoins. There is a large entrance with an elliptical head that has been blocked and replaced with an inserted window. To the left of this entrance, there is a cross-axial stack. The later bays to the right have windows with splayed surrounds; the first window is likely in what was once an entrance, while the second window is a sash type with vertical glazing bars and horns. This outbuilding is included for its group value with Rigmaden Hall.
