Description

Borrens Farmhouse and the attached barn are structures dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The barn features a datestone that reads "17 M 18/WI," indicating William Moore. Both buildings are constructed of stone rubble and have slate roofs.

The west facade of the farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of six bays, with the sixth bay being lower than the others. The windows are small-paned casements, and the fourth and fifth bays on the ground floor feature a long window with a wooden mullion on the inside. The first floor has small windows, one of which is a sash window. There are entrances located in the third and sixth bays. Gable-end stacks are present, and the east elevation has outshuts beneath a catslide roof. A small bay at the north end connects the house to a 1718 outbuilding that projects as a wing to the west.

On the south elevation, there is a drip course over the ground floor, which is interrupted by a blocked opening. The ground floor has two entrances with stop-chamfered reveals; the left entrance features a date and flanking rosettes. The central window has chamfered reveals and flat mullions. The first floor includes a loading door and long sills with pigeon holes. The rear of the building has a 20th-century timber open outshut.

Inside, the farmhouse contains some six-panel doors, a cupboard with shaped fielded panels, a fireplace with a cornice, and some narrow splat balusters.
