The Cottage, With Attached Outbuilding To Left

The Cottage, with an attached outbuilding to the left, is a house and byre dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five first-floor windows. Notable architectural details include quoins and a 20th-century glazed door located to the right of centre, which has chamfered quoined jambs and a rebuilt lintel. There is a door to the byre on the left side. The ground floor has recessed chamfered mullion windows with configurations of 2, 1, 3, and 1 light, along with a large 20th-century window to the right. The first floor features windows with 2, 1, 2, 1, and 2 (now 1) lights. A large ridge stack is positioned to the left, above the left-hand single-light windows, which are likely fire windows. The byre appears to be an addition, although the quoins were reused. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
