Description
The stables located to the southwest of Clapdale Farmhouse date back to the 17th century. They are constructed from rubble with stone dressings and feature a stone slate roof. The building consists of two bays. The central entrance has a chamfered surround and a plank door. On either side of the entrance, there are tall transomed windows, both of which are now blocked below the transom, with the upper halves filled with four and five rows of pigeon holes, respectively. Additionally, there are four rows of pigeon holes situated below the eaves across the front, as well as pigeon holes in the left and right-hand returns.
