Description

Church Bridge is a bridge that likely dates from the 18th century and was widened on the downstream side around 1820. The upstream side is constructed of rubble, while the downstream side features ashlar stone and parapets. The bridge has a single span with a segmental arch. There is a stringcourse at the base of the parapet, and pilasters are located at either end of the parapet. The coping on the parapet and wing walls includes 'newel post' stops on the wing walls. Additionally, there are cast iron West Riding boundary posts on both the east and west sides of the upstream section.
