Description
Little Gate Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar and rubblestone, topped with a graduated slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays.
The entrance features an off-centre half-glazed door set within a chamfered stone surround that has a triangular head. To the right of the door, there is a bay with a 2-light flat-faced mullion window that contains 4-pane sashes. The bay to the left of the door has a similar but larger window, which is topped with a 17th-century hoodmould. The left-hand bay features a 3-light chamfered mullioned window from the 17th century. On the first floor, there are 4-pane sashes set in plain stone surrounds. The roof has two ridge stacks.
