Description
This building is a bank barn, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed mixed rubble, featuring through-stones and small quoins, and has a roof made of slate and stone slate. The barn has a rectangular four-bay layout oriented on a north-south axis, positioned at right angles to the slope, with a shippon located under the southern end.
The east front includes a wide gabled porch at the third bay, which has an open king-strutted front. On the south gable wall, there are three shippon doorways with quoined jambs, rectangular lintels, and board doors, along with four courses of through-stones above. This wall also features a square owl-hole with a perching ledge. The north gable has a similar owl-hole. Inside, the barn has kingpost trusses with fishbone struts. This barn is part of a group that includes Dairy Cottage and the stables and loose boxes to the south.
