Description

This is a disused lime-kiln located approximately 5 metres north of Arkleside Bridge in Carlton Highdale. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of rubble. The kiln is circular in shape and features a tall triangular opening leading to a V-shaped hearth, with a circular hole at the top. It is set into the hillside.
