Description
Suncroft is a cottage dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a pebbledash exterior with stone dressings and a slate roof. The building has a central staircase plan and a gable end facing the street.
The front of the cottage is two storeys high and double fronted. The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a chamfered surround and a plank door. There are two windows on each storey, which have plain surrounds. These were originally designed as two-light windows, but the flat-faced mullions have since been removed. The windows now contain sashes with glazing bars.
On the right-hand gable end, there is a 20th-century ridge stack, which has a projecting flue from the mid-18th century supported by stone corbels. The left-hand gable end ridge stack was removed around 1970. The cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
