Description
This barn, located 20 metres south of Lowfold Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and was formerly a farmhouse. It is constructed of ashlar and rubblestone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building features quoins and is two storeys high with two bays. The central doorway is chamfered and has a basket-arched head. To the right of the doorway is a double-chamfered five-light mullioned window, both of which are covered by a continuous hoodmould. There is a large continuous buttress extending to the first-floor level on the right side. Additionally, there is a double-chamfered four-light mullioned window to the right and a similar two-light window to the left.
