Description

Low Hall Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with restoration work carried out in the 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar and rubblestone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with the right-hand bay featuring a gabled wing that projects forward.

A 19th-century porch with a boarded door is located to the right of the left-hand bays. This porch has a four-centred arch, a hoodmould, a cornice, and an embattled parapet. The left-hand bay contains a half-glazed door, while the right side has two four-light mullioned windows, each with hoodmoulds. The right-hand bay also features a prominent nine-light chamfered mullion and transom window, which includes two major mullions and a hoodmould.

On the first floor, the four left-hand bays have three-light chamfered mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. The right-hand bay has an eight-light chamfered mullioned and transom window, with a central major mullion and a hoodmould. Above this, in the gable, is a stepped three-light chamfered mullion window, also with a hoodmould. The building is adorned with shaped kneelers that have ball finials, stone coping, and a finial on the gable of the wing. There is an end stack to the left and ridge stacks.

Inside, the farmhouse features a large hall with both 19th-century and 17th-century panelling.
