Description

The forecourt wall, railings, and stone gateposts located to the north of Asby Hall date from the mid-19th century. The structure features a low wall on either side of a central wooden gate, which was added in the 20th century. At each end of the wall, there are rusticated stone piers topped with a cornice. The top of the wall is adorned with cast-iron railings that have lobed standards and urn finials. This arrangement does not appear on the 1840 tithe map, which indicates that the entrance was originally offset.
