Description
Boatyard Foreman's Cottage is a cottage orné built around 1860, with later additions. It features painted vertical boarding with cover strips on a timber frame and has a corrugated asbestos roof that replaced the original thatch. The cottage is single storey with an attic and has a three-bay facade. It includes Gothick 2-light Y-traceried windows on either side of a two-centred arched doorway. The gabled open porch has shaped brackets and ornamental barge boards. The gable end displays two lancet windows and ornamental barge boards. A tall central brick chimney shaft is adorned with raised vertical strips. There are later single storey extensions that are set back on the right-hand (east) side and at the rear.
