Description

The road bridge at the former Saint Andrews Hospital site, dated 1856, was designed by John Brown, the county surveyor. It is constructed of yellow brick with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a single elliptical arch supported by rusticated piers, an impost band, and a keystone that displays the date. On either side, there are rusticated pilasters that support piers with chamfered caps. Additional architectural details include a dentillated string course and a panelled parapet with chamfered coping.
