Description
Thatched House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame that is plastered and whitewashed, with the south gable and part of the east wall constructed from red brick. The roof is reed-thatched with gabled ends and the building is 1½ storeys high, likely consisting of two separate builds with a roof line at two different levels.
The east facade has four 20th-century casement windows, each with two lights and glazing bars. Two of these windows are located on the ground floor within a red brick wall that has segmental heads, while the other two are set in swept dormers. The south gable is made of red brick and includes a tumbled-in parapet and an internal chimney stack. There is a ridge stack positioned at the change in the roof line. The central entrance door is located in the east wall of the northern range.
The west wall is plastered and whitewashed, with a south gable return in brick and 19th-century casement windows. A thatched dormer is situated at the north-west corner, and there is a later lean-to addition at the north gable.
