Description
The barn at Claxton Manor, dated R.P. 1706, is constructed of red brick and features a thatched roof. The base of the south gable is made of flint and stone with brick dressings. It has parapet gables with continuous tumbling-in, moulded eaves corbels, and a platband. There are vent loops in the south gable. The west side has two pairs of double doors, with the openings flanked by plain brick pilasters. On the east side, there are two gabled projections that contain double doors in segmental arched openings. The northern projection has a rebuilt gable with a coped parapet, while the southern projection's gable features tumbling-in and moulded eaves corbels, along with the remains of a platband.
