Description

The Cross is a house, originally two dwellings, dating from the 17th century, with an 18th-century extension and early 19th-century cladding. The walls are of brick in a Flemish Garden Wall bond, with some Flemish bond patterns, incorporating small areas of flint and limited exposed timber framing. A plinth and cambered openings are also present. The roof is thatched, with a half-hip design at the east end and eyebrow dormers. A catslide roof extends to the rear, and a gabled roof covers the rear wing, both tiled. The south front has one storey and an attic, with four windows, all containing casement windows. A simple doorway is present. The timber frame is visible from within.
