Description

This is a commemorative cross located on Church Lane in West Meon, built in 1901. The monument features a slender, octagonal tapering column topped with a cross, all resting on an octagonal pedestal. Both the top of the column and the base are adorned with sculptured reliefs that include floral decorations in the Art Nouveau style. The inscriptions on the monument honor George Vining Rogers, a local doctor who lived from 1777 to 1846, as well as his children who commissioned the monument.
