Description
Nos 9 and 10 Cliffe High Street is a pair of houses that have been converted into shops. They date back to the 16th century, with a 17th-century crosswing on the left, which is clad in 19th-century materials. The buildings are timber-framed and feature tile-hung cladding. The roof is plain tiled and includes a half-hipped crosswing on the left. There are brick stacks on both the right and left sides, and a hipped dormer on the right.
The former jetties on the ground floor, which were supported by joists, have been underbuilt with shopfronts. The structure has two storeys and attics, with one casement window in the gable and four irregular casement windows on the first floor. The ground floor has 20th-century shopfronts, including one on the left with a half-glazed door. The right side features a double shopfront with a recessed central entrance. There is an alleyway under No 10 on the right that leads to the rear of the property.
