Description

The Old School House, now a shop pair, dates from the mid-18th century and was altered in the mid-19th century. It has a slate roof with stacks to the left side, and a painted mathematical tile cornice with modillion details. The building is two and a half storeys high, with a four-window front. There is a two-and-a-half storey splayed bay to the left, two bays to the right, and a single sash window on the first floor above the doorway. The doorway is surrounded by Doric pilasters and a modillioned pediment over an arched entrance, which features an ogee overlight. The door has been removed. A single wide shop front is located within the splayed bay on the left. A 17th-century wing, featuring red and blue brick chequer cladding, is visible at the rear.
