Description
The former stables to Malling House, now used as offices, date from the mid to late 17th century and were altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick on a flint plinth, featuring rusticated brick quoins and red brick pilaster strips. It has a hipped bell-cast roof covered with plain tiles and stands two storeys tall with five bays. The windows are regularly spaced but have been altered, with the central window lowered. Most of the windows are 19th-century casements, including mullioned and cross-windows, except for two 17th-century cross-windows on the first floor to the left. There are two boarded doors, one at the extreme left and another in the second bay from the right. To the north, there is a stone extension with a central pediment above a wide segmental keyed carriage-arch, which is now blocked.
