Description

This building, numbers 30 and 31 High Street, is a house dating to around 1800. It is built with painted mathematical tiles and has a hipped roof covered with plain tiles, featuring a brick stack on the right side. The corner of the building at the junction with Brooman’s Lane is rounded. The house has two storeys and originally four windows on the first floor, with two larger tripartite sash windows on the ground floor, all set within raised flat surrounds. Two windows are visible on the rounded corner, appearing partially from the front facade. A recessed entrance, accessed by six steps, leads to a porch supported by Corinthian columns and topped with a cornice pediment, all inset into the façade. The entrance door is panelled and flanked by matching panels. Inside the entrance is a long, coffered ceiling.
