Description
Barrow Hill Farmhouse is a house that has undergone significant alterations and recladding, originally built in the 17th century, with further changes in the 18th and 19th centuries. The upper front wall is covered with tiles, while the lower section features brickwork in both English and Flemish bonds, which meet at a vertical joint in the middle. The north wall is primarily made of malmstone with brick dressings from two different periods, and the south gable is slate-hung. The front roof is slate, but most of the roof is tiled. The windows are casements, and there are 20th-century doorways at each end of the building. Inside, the structure reveals its timber-framed origins, with the lower rear wing displaying a barn-type frame.
