Description
Homelands is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with renovations from the mid 19th century and a rear extension added in the 20th century. The building features walls made of malmstone ashlar with brick dressings, including a high plinth, quoins, rubbed flat arches, and a first-floor band. Some sections are rendered, while others include coursed flint with brick dressings, and there is tile-hanging on the upper floor. The roof is hipped and tiled, flat at the rear (replacing a catslide), and there is a central stack with shafts. The main windows are sash windows set in openings with lowered cills, while other windows are casements. A two-storeyed gabled porch is located at the front, with the upper part (from the mid 19th century) jettied and tile-hung, featuring patterned bands. The ground floor has an opening filled with turned wood balusters and a plain door. The west elevation, which faces the road, is symmetrical with two storeys and two windows, featuring rendered walls and sash windows.
