Description

Hambledon Cottage is a cottage dating to the 17th century, with later alterations in the 19th century. It is located on Vicarage Lane, in Hambledon. The original structure is timber-framed and was later clad in painted brickwork. An east extension was added in 1844 and is constructed of flint with brick quoins and cambered arches. The earlier part has a thatched roof with an eyebrow dormer; the eaves have been lowered above a 20th-century half-glazed porch. The extension has a tile roof. The south elevation shows the two sections, one of one storey and an attic, and the other of two storeys, with 11 windows above 21 windows. The windows are casements, and a French door is also present.
