Description
This is a series of barns at No. 14 that form a courtyard to the southeast of the farmhouse, dating from 1837, as indicated by a kneeler engraved "D.N, 1837." The barns are constructed from nodular flint with galleting and feature red brick dressings. They have a pitched slate roof, ashlar gable coping, and elaborate kneelers. The east and west ends of the barns have four vertical ventilation slits and one window with iron glazing bars, semi-circular relieving arches, and battered sill courses. The south side is largely covered by a modern extension but also includes ventilation slits and two planked double stable doors. The extensions to the south create a nearly enclosed courtyard. The buildings incorporate flint, red and yellow brick dressings, and pitched tile roofs, with the sides facing into the courtyard remaining open. The courtyard, along with the massive barn to the north, creates a very picturesque composition within the overall group.
