Description

Ivyhouse Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed building that underwent significant alterations in the early 19th century. It originally comprised two cottages. The exterior was refaced with brickwork, incorporating cambered and Dutch flat arches, and evidence of blocked doorways and a rear area of flintwork with brick dressings. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped form and catslide eyebrow dormers to the rear. The south front has one storey and an attic, displaying two windows above four, with casement windows. A boarded door is set within a plain frame. The interior retains portions of the original timber frame, along with old casement windows and metal fittings leading to the attic on the right-hand side.
