Description

Barnside Farm End Cottage is a late 16th century or early 17th century timber-framed house that was re-fronted in the 19th century. It is now divided into two dwellings and features one storey with an attic and three irregularly placed windows. The cottage has a thatched roof with three dormers that break the eaves. At the north end, there is a large chimney stack made of narrow bricks, which projects and has a crow-stepped design. The front and back walls are made of rebuilt brick, while the north wall shows visible timber framing with brick filling. The windows are early 19th century one-bar casements set in older frames, and the doors have been modernised.
