Description

Broadlands Cottages, originally a 16th-century house, are now divided into two dwellings, numbered 5 and 6. Number 5 is a single-storey and attic building with two windows, featuring two dormers which break the eaves and have later bargeboards. Number 6 is similarly designed, also single-storey and attic with two windows and one dormer, matching the style of those at No. 5. All dormers have a flush front and break the eaves. Both cottages have a very steeply pitched, hipped tiled roof with a large, off-centre chimney stack built of narrow brick. The houses are constructed with square timber framing and brick infill, finished with a colourwashed appearance. They have 19th-century or later casement windows. Each cottage has a modern gabled porch centered on the front facade.
