Description
Northend House is a house dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The front wall is rendered over brickwork, with a coping to the parapet, while the other walls are made of painted brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall bond. The building features a hipped slate roof, with a tile roof at the rear. The main block is from the earlier period, with a service wing at the back and an early 19th-century block added to the rear, which includes modifications to the front, such as rendering and a porch.
The symmetrical east front elevation is two storeys high with five windows, featuring sashes set in reveals. There is a six-panelled door, four of which are glazed at the top, beneath a radiating fanlight, and a later Tuscan porch supported by two half-columns and two full columns. Inside, there is an original plain staircase and panelled doors with architraves. The early 19th-century rear block includes a beam that may have been reused from the 17th century.
