Description

No. 5 Chapel Hill is a 17th-century cottage located on the east side of Chapel Hill in Lewes. The building features painted brick on the ground floor and plain and scalloped tile-hanging on the first floor. It has a wooden eaves cornice beneath a plain tiled roof, which is topped with a small brick stack on the left and a larger brick stack on the right. The cottage is two storeys tall and has an irregular arrangement of windows, with two on each floor. The first-floor windows are horizontal sliding sashes, while the ground floor has glazing bar sashes. There is a panelled door that is slightly off-centre to the left, topped with a flat hood supported by small brackets.
