Description

This is a pair of houses, later used as shops, dating from the 1780s. The exterior is faced with grey and red mathematical tiles and features a bracketed eaves cornice supporting a slate roof with end stacks and two flat-headed dormers. The building has thin red brick quoins, with a double quoin in the centre. It rises three storeys, plus an attic and basement, and has a regular two-window front. It contains glazing bar sash windows, with the ones on the first floor being wider and slightly segmental. There are two shop fronts on the ground floor; the shop front on the left was altered in the late 19th century and has a pair of half-glazed doors in its centre. The detailing includes grey headers and red brick dressings.
