Description
The walled garden at Castle Goring is an early 19th-century structure featuring attached outbuildings. It is rectangular, measuring approximately 90 by 55 metres, and constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with back headers. The walls stand about 12 feet high and are accented with brick pilasters at regular intervals and topped with stone coping. On the north side, there are lean-to outbuildings made of pebble with red brick dressings and a slate roof, likely serving as a potting shed and gardeners' bothy. On the opposite side of this wall, facing south, are late 19th-century glasshouses. The north wall includes flues, which were probably used for heating.
