Description
The Coach and Horses Public House is a public house built in the early to mid 18th century, with a refronting in the early to mid 19th century and a 20th-century addition to the side. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, while the first floor features slate hanging. The building has a tiled roof with ridge tiles and end painted brick chimneystacks. The original structure consists of two storeys and attics in the gable end, with three windows. It has twelve-pane sash windows and a central 18th-century six fielded panelled door, which is topped by a pedimented hood with console brackets, although this is concealed under a 20th-century glazed porch. To the left, there is a one-storey bar extension with twelve-pane sashes, which is a converted former outbuilding. At the rear, there is a 19th-century gabled extension and a 20th-century flat-roofed extension on the right side. Inside, the building features a chamfered spine beam.
