Description

The ruins of the Old Halnaker House are located on the north west side of Petworth Road in Boxgrove. This large mansion was originally built by the de Haye family in the 13th century. It underwent alterations in the 16th century before falling into ruins around 1800. The remaining structures include a Lavant stone gateway at the center of the south front, featuring square towers, as well as parts of the 13th-century chapel and 14th-century hall constructed from flints.
