Description

The Molineux chest tomb, located 10 yards south of the Church of St Anne, is a Grade II listed structure dating from around 1850. This stone chest tomb is designed in a neo-Norman style. It features a stepped base that supports the chest tomb, which has two arched panels on the sides and single panels at the ends. The round arches are adorned with dogtooth decoration on piers that have impost mouldings, along with a secondary order of columns that include moulded bases and scalloped capitals. The lid of the tomb is finished with a dogtooth cornice. The tomb is inscribed to George Molineux, who died in 185?.
