Description

Ashdown House is a house dating from the 18th century, which was later refronted and altered in the mid-19th and late 19th centuries. The ground floor is of red brick, while the first floor is tilehung. The roof is tiled with boxed eaves, end stacks, and two gabled dormers. The house has two storeys and attics, with a regular three-window front. The central part features a panelled door with an inset upper light, set within an architrave surround topped by an open triangular pediment. Flanking the central doorway are two-storey splayed bays, each with a glazing bar sash window.
