Description

No 128 High Street is a cottage that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century, with a front added in the early to mid-19th century. The front is stuccoed and features a parapet above a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the left. The building has two storeys and a regular two-window front, with sash windows set in open boxes and a recessed panel between them. There is a sign on a cast-iron bracket hanging between the windows. The early to mid-19th century double shop front below includes two bowed shop windows with Gothick-glazed top-lights, flanking a two-thirds glazed door that has a mouchette fanlight above it. Fluted columns on either side support acanthus frond volute brackets.
