Description

The Barnard tomb, located 5 yards north of the vestry of the Church of St Michael, is a chest tomb dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is made of stone and features a stepped base with a moulded plinth. The tomb has granite panelled sides, square baluster corners, and a corniced lid. Surrounding the tomb is a wrought-iron spearhead railed enclosure with vasehead standards. The tomb is inscribed to Thomas Barnard, who died in 1738.
