Description

The barn at Middle Farm is a 17th-century structure featuring a timber frame with weatherboarded and corrugated iron sides, topped with an iron roof. It consists of seven bays, with one aisle and a midstray on either side of the third bay, which has double doors on one side. Inside, the barn has a queen strut roof made from reused timbers, supported by straight braces and wind braces. The posts on the aisled side rest on brick piers, secured with ties at the top and bottom. At one end of the barn, there is an 18th-century three-bay barn constructed of flint with brick dressings and reused timbers in a queen post roof. Additionally, a later barn is attached to one end of the structure.
