Description

Farmhouse. Dating from the 17th century, it was enlarged in the 18th century and rebuilt in the 19th century. The farmhouse has a timber-frame core, with brickwork featuring blue headers, and an old plain tile roof. It is arranged in a T-shape, with a surviving timber-frame bay at the junction of ranges, an 18th-century wing facing the farmyard, and a 19th-century rear range which represents a rebuild of a timber-frame. The two-storey, four-window range features a central doorway within the timber-frame bay. A wide 18th-century top-lit door has incised render on either side, sheltered by a pent-roofed timber porch with posts. To the left of the doorway is a 19th-century flush-framed four-pane sash window; above it is a string course. To the right is a blocked opening, then a straight joint, followed by brickwork and a 19th-century flush-framed sash with a segmental head, with a small blocked opening high up near the right end. On the first floor above the openings are four small four-pane sashes. The roof has a long hip on the left. A wide ridge stack is located to the left of the door, and a smaller stack sits between the two right-hand windows. Above the door is a small hip indicating a higher roof on the rear wing.
