Description

Box Cottage is a 16th-century cottage, restored in the 20th century. It is constructed with an exposed timber frame and brick infill, incorporating some malmstone. The lower walls on the south side, the southern gable, and the rear walls are of malmstone. The roof is tiled, with a half-hipped design, and includes a 20th-century outshot at the rear. There are three dormers: one at the front with a sloping roof, another at the rear with a gable, and a third with a flat roof. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and has an irregular arrangement of windows. Casement windows are present, along with a plain doorway at the rear.
