Description
West Hall is a house that dates from the late 18th century, with extensions from the early 19th century and features from the mid-19th century. The walls are made of stucco, showing joint marks, and there is stone coping on the parapet and stone cills. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, covered with slate, reflecting different phases of construction.
The east front elevation is symmetrical, featuring the original two-storey section with three windows, and a slightly set-back north side that is wider and has one window. The windows are sashes set in reveals. There is a porch with a Doric order low-angle pediment and triglyphs, which has later stucco corner pilasters and a key above the doorway, leading to a six-panelled door that is accessed by three stone steps.
On the south elevation, there is a slightly set-back extension on the west side that is two storeys high and has one and a half windows. The first floor has sashes in reveals, while the ground floor features coupled French windows, with stone steps that now connect to a wider terrace. The other elevations of the house are irregular and include two Victorian bays.
