Description

This is a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on the east side of Sun Street, Lewes. The left-hand cottage is constructed of red brick with red brick dressings, while the right-hand cottage has a painted brick facade. Both have cogged brick eaves, a plain tiled roof, a brick stack at the right end, and a stack in the centre of the ridge. The roof also features two flat-headed dormers. The cottages are two storeys and have attics. The left-hand cottage has sash windows, while the right-hand cottage has sashes without glazing bars. The ground floor windows on the right-hand side are set within segment-headed surrounds. Segment-headed doorways with half-glazed doors are located to the left of each ground floor window. The buildings are included on the list for their contribution to the group value of the area.
