Description
Pear Tree Cottage is a cottage, originally two dwellings, dating back to the 17th century, with a taller crosswing largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. The older part of the cottage is timber-framed, while the later block is primarily brick, constructed in a Flemish Garden Wall bond with two phases, one featuring blue headers. The roof is tiled, with sloping dormers and a hip at one end of the later section. The original timber-framed section is small, comprising three bays, with one bay incorporated into the crosswing. This older section is one storey high with an attic, while the later block is two storeys high and has irregular window placement. It features casement windows and two plain doorways, one of which has a gabled porch with trellis above a brick wall.
