Description
The Coach House, formerly known as Rectory Cottage, is a mid-19th century building that served as a cottage, stable, and coach house for the Rectory. It features ashlar malmstone walls with chamfered openings and hoodmoulds above the cottage windows, as well as a plinth. The roof is made of scalloped tiles and includes two small gables along with a larger gable on the south side of the cottage. The structure is a long, narrow block that connects to the Rectory through a wall that has a gateway, designed to contrast with the vertical emphasis of the Rectory's north elevation. The building has one storey and an attic, with irregular fenestration. The north side has coupled slits on either side of the gabled dormer window. The windows are casements, and the entrance to the cottage is located in the south gable. On the rear (east) elevation, there is a small dormer for the cottage and a larger dormer that includes a hayloft door. The large gable in the middle features a window above coupled carriage doorways, with sashes (two of which are filled) and two plain doors.
