Description
Tisted House is a mid-19th century house designed in the Tudor Gothic style. It features walls made of ashlar malmstone, with hoodmoulds, flat arches, chamfered reveals, and a plinth. The steep tiled roof has varied gables that end in kneelers and displays patterned tiling. The house has two storeys and an attic, with complex asymmetrical elevations on three sides.
The entrance is located on the north elevation and consists of three windows with gables on each side. The south side is partially obscured by an attached tapered stack and features a large porch with a parapet, diagonal buttresses, and Tudor arches on openings on three sides. The windows are sash style, and there are two glazed doors, one inner and one outer.
On the west elevation, there is one window with a large gable on the south side, showcasing similar architectural features, including windows with pointed heads and lozenges at the corners. The south elevation has two windows with unequal gables, similar features, and a large splayed bay. The house is topped with prominent chimneys that have grouped circular flues set on rectangular bases.
