Description
Court House Cottage is a building that likely began as two separate cottages and now forms a half-H-shaped structure. It features a recessed center with one storey and two windows, flanked by gabled projecting wings that are two storeys high, each with one window. The exterior is faced with flints, accented by red brick dressings and quoins, and it has a tiled roof. The windows are casement style. The east wing was originally a toll cottage, likely built as a single storey. There is a small square opening in the west wall of its projection that has been blocked; this was where tolls were collected. The first floor of the east wing was probably added or refaced in the 19th century, along with the center portion and the matching west wing, while the ground floor of the west wing dates back to the 18th century.
