Description
The stables located 30 metres north of Coldhayes were built in 1869 by A. Waterhouse. This range of buildings surrounds a courtyard and features an arched entrance positioned diagonally at a corner. The walls are made of polygonal limestone with Bath stone dressings, while the interior elevations are finished in yellow brick. The building has a steep tile roof. Two of the ranges are single-storeyed; one served as the former stables and the other has carriage entrances beneath segmental arches. The west range is domestic, consisting of one storey and an attic, and it extends at the entrance corner into a taller section with a Gothic arch. The fourth range has been raised to create a 20th-century house. The domestic range features casements, including some dormers, that overlook both the courtyard and the exterior, while the other outer walls are blank.
