Description
Nursted Farmhouse is a house from the mid-18th century. It features walls made of blue header brickwork with flush red dressings, a plinth above a malmstone base, cambered and rubbed flat arches, brick dentil eaves, and stone cills. The north wall is constructed in English bond, while the south wall is now tile hung. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles.
The east elevation, which is the older front, is symmetrical and has two storeys with five windows. The windows are sashes with sixteen panes. There is a plain doorframe that encloses a fanlight and an old door, topped by a late 19th-century stone moulded canopy supported by carved brackets.
The west elevation, which is the current front, is similar to the east but has been rendered and features a large late 19th-century porch that is gabled with decorative bargeboards and includes a half-glazed door. The south side of the house has single-storeyed wings made of brick and malmstone.
